Yoyo is a Speech and Hearing Sciences student at The University of Hong Kong. She finds inspiration from Henry Miller’s belief that “One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things”. She sees herself as a seeker and an adventurer, who is keen on exploring to better and continuously challenge herself. With much empathy and passion to serve the community, she has been volunteering for The Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong and Fu Hong Society, as well as taking the initiative to organize community services on behalf of Speechians’ Action. Yoyo is also active in the LGBT+ community. She hopes that one day, no one needs to come out of their closet because there will not be one to hide them. At this moment, she is still a newbie on the road of LGBT+ advocacy as an executive committee of the Queer Straight Alliance. Yet, she has already considered it a lifetime obligation. She strives hard for a world where there is social and legal equality for everyone irrespective of their gender identity or sexual orientation.
