Sam Au-Yeung

Sam is currently a music major student at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Having an unquenchable enthusiasm towards saxophone performance, Sam was a First Prize Winner in Grand Prize Virtuoso 2020 ‘Salzburg’ International Music Competition. He is also one of the saxophonists in Hong Kong Chamber Wind Philharmonia. 

During his secondary school years, Sam was the Chairman of senior band. Being offered a full scholarship, he was selected to represent the Hong Kong Schools Music and Speech Association to participate in the European Youth Summer Music Camp (EYSM) 2018 in the United Kingdom. He has humbly won numerous recognitions including the LTCL Recital with distinction, Champion in 69th and 70th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival in ‘Alto Saxophone Senior Class’ and the ‘Parsons Music Scholarship Open Class’.  

Sam is determined to contribute to society. He is currently an orchestral performer in the Music Children Foundation, a nonprofit that provides underprivileged children in Hong Kong with free music training. With all his performancesSam believes music has hugely changed his life and he hopes others can benefit in the same way with the support of the Scholarship.
