Before embarking on her journey in physiotherapy, Myra spent several years in the legal field. This unique background has allowed her to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds, fostering a strong sense of empathy and professionalism that she now channels into her studies and future aspirations.
Having personally navigated challenges related to mental health, Myra has found strength in vulnerability, cultivating a profound sense of empathy and self-compassion. The unwavering support of her family and friends has illuminated her path and ignited a desire to extend that compassion to others.
Myra firmly believes in the intrinsic connection between mental and physical health. Acknowledging that aging often brings pain, discomfort, and injuries, she advocates for a holistic approach to health – one that nurtures both mind and body. She is dedicated to providing comprehensive care to her community and raising awareness about its importance in her future practice, aiming to create a sanctuary for those in need of compassionate support.
Earlier in her journey, Myra volunteered in a university-based free legal advice program, assisting individuals in need of legal aid. As a volunteer tutor for underprivileged children at a non-profit organization in Hong Kong, she strives to provide academic support and inspire resilience in young minds. Additionally, her involvement in program that deliver health knowledge to the elderly and support visually impaired individuals in physical activities has been profoundly rewarding, reinforcing her belief in the transformative power of connection and support.
With The D. H. Chen Foundation Scholarship Program, Myra is more determined than ever to make a meaningful impact, spreading hope and healing to others on their journey to wellbeing.
