Aspiring to become a cultural advocate in the fields of museum and history, Miranda has proactively initiated various campaigns focused on Chinese orchestral music and letter-writing since high school. She sees herself as an enthusiastic, exuberant and sophisticated team player.
Miranda’s interest in Chinese dynastic history was sparked in childhood, inspiring her to write letters to royal families around the world. Passionate about amplifying the power of handwritten correspondence, she founded Iridescent Replies, an Instagram platform in 2020 dedicated to documenting letters from royal families and sharing the sentimentality and personal connections behind handwritten notes. Since 2022, she has been featured in various interviews to promoting the culture of letter-writing and discussing historical topics, hoping to inspire more people to embrace this art form in our tech-savvy society.
Determined to continue spreading positivity through letter-writing, Miranda is excited about launching projects related to royal replies that contribute to a compassionate society. She plans to teach primary school children the grammar and format of letters while introducing them to brief histories, fun facts and daily lives of royal families. Each child will have the opportunity to write a letter to a royal family member they appreciate. Her initiative aims to nurture practical skills like patience and proper handwriting, in contrast to the instant communication prevalent in texting and to alleviate gadget addiction – a common challenge among digital natives.
As a witness and scribe of her own era, and fueled by her cultural aspiration and eagerness to serve, Miranda hopes to blossom into her envisioned self. She aims to give back to the society that has nurtured her throughout her journey as a Scholar of The D. H. Chen Foundation Scholarship Program, embracing kindness and philanthropy as a devout Buddhist.
