Driven by a belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their socioeconomic background, Ken is dedicated to building an equitable and inclusive future. Growing up in a financially-challenged family in Hong Kong, he overcame limited resources and intense pressure through perseverance and academic excellence, emerging as a source of inspiration for others from similar backgrounds.
During his secondary school years, mentorship from graduates through the school Mentorship Programme transformed his outlook on career and education, motivating him to give back. Volunteered as President of the programme after graduation, he mobilised over 100 alumni to share their life and career experiences and support current students, fostering a strong community of guidance and empowerment.
Ken’s participation in multiple case competitions, where he received various honours, deepened his understanding of finance as a force for positive social change through formulating needs-based strategies for companies. This insight continues to shape his goal of leveraging financial strategies to create sustainable social impact.
As a Scholar of The D. H. Chen Foundation, Ken is committed to minimising the effects of family socioeconomic disadvantage on children’s development. Through the Foundation’s mentorship, network, and resources, he is seeking to equip himself with the skills and connections needed to lead initiatives that cultivate inclusive opportunities to empower others from modest beginnings to thrive.
