Jackie Cheung believes that transformative leadership begins with “listening without judgment”, and that brilliant solutions and true collaboration emerge only when every voice is not only heard but genuinely valued. This guiding principle has shaped her journey of advocating for housing justice in Hong Kong.  

Jackie’s central aspiration is to become a stateswoman who bridges the gap between technical expertise and social equity. Motivated by the stark reality of Hong Kong’s housing inequality, where families endure life in subdivided flats that stifle opportunity, she believes that dignified shelter is a fundamental human right. Lasting change requires policies that reflect lived experiences and unite government, developers, and communities. 

Her commitment extends beyond advocacy. Jackie envisions launching a community-driven initiative that partners with grassroots organisations and fellow students to co-design humane living solutions, empowering residents through knowledge and innovative design.  

To Jackie, The D. H. Chen Foundation Scholarship is not merely as an honour, but a catalyst for future leaders to translate compassion into systemic change. She is dedicated to honouring this legacy by collaborating to build a more compassionate society where dignity begins with the security of a home.
