Isaac is an aspiring scientist studying Biochemistry and Cell Biology at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Committed to the path of scientific research, Isaac has worked as an undergraduate research member on a project about Ataxia-Telangiectasia, a neurodegenerative disease that affects coordination and increases the likelihood of cancer. He is interested in unravelling the mystery of the brain and developing treatments for various neurodegenerative diseases. An enthusiastic learner, Isaac is eager to explore all aspects of the world. He believes the world is an endlessly complex puzzle and it is humanity’s mission to discover all of its secrets.
Academics aside, Isaac has taken up numerous positions at university. As Promotion Secretary of the International Research Enrichment Students’ Society and Senior Undergraduate Mentor of one of the student halls of residence, he has organized a number of student-led activities and provided guidance to university freshmen. His motto in life is to “breathe life into others”. Recognising how gloomy the world may appear at times, he wishes to put a smile on others with his positivity and energy. For him, there is no greater pleasure in life than being able to help those in need.
