Gloria is a Civil Engineering student at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She devotes herself to the construction sector upon completion of her secondary education in St. Mary’s Canossian College, where she was groomed and shaped into a self-motivated student who embraces any opportunity to learn and explore.
Aiming to widen her global vision, she engages in numerous activities. In the past summer, she attended the 8th University Scholars Leadership Symposium. She was much inspired by the speakers and the service at the Symposium was a life-changing experience. Since then, “Work for a cause, not for applause” has become her life motto. An amateur in outdoor expedition, she is mesmerized by the beauty and wonders of nature. Yet, she is aware that there will often be conflicting interests at work between her profession and hobby. Thereby, she would like to investigate the unique bonding between city development and sustainability. She has recently developed an interest in evaluating the feasibility and effectiveness of green building design and materials which serve as alternatives to conventional approach.
To Gloria, not merely does the Scholarship serve as an encouragement, its network also provides a valuable platform for her to connect with other outstanding Scholars and Mentors from multiple fields.
