“Not to be served, but to serve” has always been Daniel’s guiding motto. He is dedicated to taking up different roles to contribute and give back to the community. During his secondary school years, Daniel served as head prefect and peer mentor leader; he also organized voluntary tutoring classes for fellow students in need. These experiences honed his leadership and communication skills.
Born and bred in Hong Kong, Daniel has developed a strong sense of belonging to his community. He actively seeks opportunities to make a difference, such as participating in squatter house visits, flag selling and distributing supplies to those in need. These activities have taught him to observe and understand the diverse needs of those around him.
Daniel has been able to build connections with individuals from various backgrounds including those with special needs. These interactions have nurtured his empathy and deepened his understanding of the challenges they face. He aspires for society to develop a more accurate understanding of these individuals, and aims to raise awareness of their needs.
With the support of the Scholarship Program, Daniel looks forward to valuable opportunities that will allow him to contribute to society, broaden his horizons, and connect with diverse communities. He hopes to further equip himself with different skills and grow into a compassionate leader, driving meaningful change and building a more inclusive society.
