Carolyn is studying English Language and Literature at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. With her deep affection for language, creative and critical thinking, as well as her belief in language linking people with different thoughts together, she loves to share her mind with others through writing and debating. She has participated in writing competitions such as The Hong Kong Young Writers Awards and the TWGHs “Good People, Good Deeds English Story-Writing Competition”. She has also founded the debating team at her secondary school and joined debating competitions like Mini LegCo and Youth Forum. In her freshman year, she was also the vice-captain of the Chung Chi College Debating Team.  

Realizing that students nowadays focus more on examination skills than anything else, she is determined to inspire students to see the value of education. She serves as a volunteer committee member in the self-founded voluntary teaching group – Dreamunity, offering free English tutorial lessons and educational activities to secondary and underprivileged students to open up their world of knowledge beyond examination and help them build their personal goals.   

With her knowledge and the support from the Scholarship Program, she hopes to bring positive change in education that everyone can embrace the joy of learning, sharing, and become a better self.
