Brittany Wong

Nursing, HKU

Brittany believes in doing small things with great love. Her studies at The University of Hong Kong have given her valuable opportunities for personal growth and community service, strengthening her commitment to supporting others with empathy and care.

As a Peer Supporter at HKUMed, Brittany completed a 12-hour Mental Health First Aid course, which equipped her to recognise signs of emotional distress, approach peers sensitively and listen with empathy. The experience reinforced her belief that active listening and peer support can offer meaningful comfort to someone going through a difficult time.

Brittany has also served as a Student Ambassador for both HKU and the School of Nursing. Through school visits and outreach activities, she shared her university journey with secondary school students and introduced them to opportunities for further learning. She also led tours for Swedish exchange students, sharing Hong Kong’s local culture and global outlook. During the Vancouver Summer Programme at The University of British Columbia, she further developed her understanding of mental well-being and mindfulness, broadening her perspective and deepening her interest in mental health promotion.

The Scholarship Programme will provide Brittany with a platform to connect healthcare knowledge, peer support and purposeful service. Within the community of Scholars of The D. H. Chen Foundation, she hopes to advance mental well-being and make reliable health information more accessible, helping more people feel heard, respected and supported.
