Angel’s story reflects the experience of feeling like an outsider upon moving to Hong Kong at a young age, struggling with language barriers in academic and recreational settings like baseball. Through persistence, she rebuilt confidence one conversation, one pitch, and one mistake at a time, eventually joining the Hong Kong Women’s Baseball Team, which offers a strong community beyond just sport itself. Angel’s dual role as a player and coach strengthened her belief in the power of helping others feel seen, especially when facing self-doubt.

Angel is driven by a vision to develop a programme that supports under-resourced youth in Hong Kong by focusing on financial literacy and mental wellness. She understands the challenges young people face navigating unfamiliar systems and is committed to creating inclusive, open spaces where they can learn, ask questions, and grow with confidence. Her leadership extends beyond sports to launching a sustainability start-up, exploring financial markets, and mentoring others. Guided by empathy and purpose, Angel believes that identity is not innate but something to be built gradually, piece by piece, especially in the face of uncertainty.

As a Scholar of The D. H. Chen Foundation, she is committed to turning her personally journey into a platform that empowers others to write their own stories with courage, clarity, and heart.
