The D. H. Chen Foundation Scholarship

To honour Dr. Din Hwa Chen’s vision, the Foundation established The D. H. Chen Foundation Scholarship Programme in 2015, a pioneering initiative to nurture future leaders who combine intellect, motivation, and compassion to drive positive social change. Over the years, undergraduates from the Programme’s partner institutions – City University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, The University of Hong Kong, and University of Oxford (until 2019) – have been awarded this Scholarship.

Beyond providing comprehensive financial support for undergraduate studies and overseas exchanges, the Programme offers a rich array of experiences designed to foster scholars’ academic, personal, and social development. Through these efforts, it cultivates professional excellence and a spirit of philanthropy, empowering scholars to become insightful leaders dedicated to building a more compassionate society.

Financial Award

The Scholarship provides comprehensive support for the full course of study:

Tuition Fee Waiver
covering the normative study period on a UGC-funded basis
Overseas Learning Allowance
of maximum HKD 80,000 for up to two trips
Living Allowance
of HKD 38,000 subject to proven financial or special education needs
