Christy Wong

Environmental Management of Technology, HKUST

Christy is majoring in Environmental Management and Technology at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She aspires to make a difference in the world with her environmentally conscious mind and enjoys taking on new challenges whilst striving for the best.

As an associate of the Strategic Partnership at Enactus Hong Kong, she successfully partnered NGOs with companies in the corporate sector to spread socio-environmental awareness. Additionally, as a member of the Hong Kong Ocean Youth, she contributed in building an underwater robotics AI which can identify coral species. Through her experience, she believes that climate change cannot be solved by engineers or scientists alone, but it is more of a collaborative job. She has engaged in several service work ranging from social to environmental issues such as conservation work in Bhutan, supporting mentally disabled teens, and researching coral bleaching.

With The D. H. Chen Foundation Scholarship, she hopes to share with more people and businesses the value of sustainability. Christy believes that an individual can make impact beyond one’s imagination. Regardless of our age, nationality, gender, we can all make a difference to create a better world.
