King Or

Public Health, CUHK

Mr. Ronnie Cheng

King is majoring in Public Health at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is particularly interested in physiology, healthcare ethics, and infectious and non-communicable diseases. The basis of his social aspiration is founded upon compassion and empathy. Inspired by Elon Musk’s famous speech on five things he sees will have the most impact on humanity, King has identified education, more advanced/non-invasive medical technology, green awareness and mental health as fields that he wants to see and create change. King strives to bring together social innovation and service learning during his time as the president of the CWC College Service Team at CUHK. He leads the year-long, “Understanding socially disadvantaged youths through social service endeavor” project for the Po Leung Kuk CWC College Form 2 and 3 students. The project is an initiative planned, implemented and reviewed by dedicated and passionate undergraduate students, with the aims to help disadvantaged youths with relatively weak academic performance build confidence and set life goals, as well as enable university students to hone their leadership skills and knowledge through services. In his leisure time, King likes to tend his African cichlid fish tank and Japanese black pine bonsai tree.
